OMG, i was so amazed today when i saw an advert for third world poverty stating ''GIVE A CHILD A LAPTOP''. What on earth next, i thought it was a comedy clip, sad one at that, i had to ask my folks if i had heard right I am all for helping people less fortunate than ourselves but boy what next ''GIVE A CHILD DRIVING LESSONS?'' followed by ''GIVE A CHILD A CAR?''
Surely the vision is lost, i mean inportant matters such as fand education perhaps have been milked so much that its wearing thin maybe. We always see sadness in such adverts with nothing really changing year after year. Would it not be an idea to give contraception rather than laptops-lol. I appreciate the advert prob entails laptops donated being sold for cash and then being used for better things.
Its my opinion and i do encourage charity and have of course donated myself. I was just in disbelief at how they presented the advert, its the last thing i expected to hear.
I was actually in McDs the other day (how shallow does that sound after my latter comments) but anyway, point being missed! I saw a tramp scoffing away at a mcflurry very hungrily, i was with my daughter who had been collecting stickers for an instore monopoly type game whereby prizes inc free food can be won, teh 2 stickers she had were for an apple pie and a cheeseburger, bless her she gave them to teh tramp who of course was really grateful!! I gave him a voucher and teh additional £2 required with teh voucher to purchase a meal. He said thank u so many times before we left. Upon going back past McDs we saw he had bought, ate and enjoyed the meal, so much so that he was lay with his head on teh table amongst the wrappers falling to sleep. Little things mean alot i believe and whilst adverts are req laptop donations i gave a poor homeless guy £2 and a smile that i saw the difference of. Our country is in such a devastaed mess economically that we need to concentrate on whats happening right before us rather than helping causes we rarely see the improvement with. Im a soft soul and wish i could help everyone which is why thinsg need to be kept in perspective.
